Autism

It can be wonderful. And at times, challenging.

I have worked with hundreds of clients with autism–more specifically, who are on the autism spectrum. I have worked with their families to help understand what autism is all about. I have helped people understand the unique challenges that autism can bring to the concepts of boundaries, communication and respect. And I have employed dozens of simple interventions that can help people with autism and their families change behaviors and enjoy life to its fullest.

Autism describes a spectrum of behaviors and unique ways of experiencing the world. No two people with autism experience life the same. Some have sensory challenges, others have difficulty with new social situations. Some have extraordinary focus, some have unparalleled creativity. Some have difficulty communicating with those around them, some find it extra anxiety-inducing to try new things. All would like to be respected, heard, and understood.

If you are a person with autism or have a family member, friend or co-worker with autism, and you’d like to learn more about how to better communicate, listen, set and respect boundaries, and potentially expand what is possible in your relationships, please contact me. I haven’t “seen it all”, but when one has spent nearly ten thousand hours with people facing a particular category of challenges, patterns emerge. I would like to leverage what I’ve learned from over 500 previous clients to help you and your loved ones meet your unique challenges.
